Welcome and a short History
Dick Meerburg welcomes you to the original Manor House of Withycombe Farm in Constantia, built in 1903 in the Cape Dutch style for Capt. Paye, overlooking 60 acres of prime export fruit growing land.
Urban sprawl since the 50's gradually reduced the farm leaving 1 acre surrounding the original house lovingly restored into a bed and breakfast establishment complete with mature trees.
The guesthouse is conveniently situated in the Constantia Valley for businessman and tourist alike. There is ample safe off road parking with original pergolas and stone pathways completing the ambience of the garden. Within walking distance, The Constantia Village shopping centre offers comprehensive 7 days per week shopping. There are three food halls, travel agents, postal services, all Major banks, a number of boutiques, sporting facilities and several upmarket restaurants.
Withycombe is on the Constantia Wine Route offering wine tasting together with several quality restaurants such as Uitsig, Buitenverwachting and we are close to 6 first class Golf Courses.
Also within easy reach are the other attractions of the Cape Peninsula ranging from visiting Robben Island or safe bathing on the pristine beaches of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, diving, boating, sailing, horse riding, biking, penguin, shark and whale watching to mountain and forest walks, scenic drives and helicopter flights. Then there are also the historical homes, museums, a world class aquarium and of course the V & A Waterfront.
